Downtown Brooklyn

After the merger of Polytechnic Institute and New York University on July 1, 2008, the Polytechnic Institute of NYU was created.

This urban study was developed during a period of three months, and consisted primarily in research and asssessment of context surrounding Poly Institute in Downtown Brooklyn. The final outcome was a report that contained understanding and documentation of connectivity to Washington Park campus, urban conditions, ongoing and planned development in surrounding neighborhoods, among other relevant planning aspects.

Downtown Brooklyn had already a strong presence of higher education institutions; one of the main objectives of this study was to inform a strategy on how new education and related facilities could add value to the current synergy.
