Elevated Chicago

Elevated Chicago launched in 2017 as a collaborative initiative supported by the Strong, Prosperous, and Resilient Communities Challenge. This initiative focuses on presenting collaborative, community-led solutions to neighborhood displacement and inequities using an underutilized asset in Chicago: our public transit system.

In collaboration with Foresight Design Initiative, Borderless contributed to the integration of Elevated's Workplan and Engagement Principles with research, organization and documentation of current communities efforts, asset mapping, and best practices.

The Workplan focuses in four different community groups defined by station(s) Logan Square (Blue), California (Pink), Kedzie Corridor (Blue-Green), and Green Line South (51st, 55th and Cottage/63rd), and prioritizes investments according to three themes: People, Places and Processes through 2020.
